The fluting featured here not only changes the bow’s appearance, but also its weight, flexibility and thus its behavior while playing.
This bow was inspired by an English bow from the Hill Collection in Oxford. Over the years, the use of different materials and proportions has proven successful, allowing violin and viola bows to be made using the same template. Individual preferences, for example regarding weight and balance point, can also be accommodated.
