This bow model is especially suitable for repertoire from the late gamba literature. Its distinctive features include a fluted stick and a beautifully decorated screw.
In contrast to the “Marais” model, this bow has a basically concave stick that just barely becomes straight when the bow is tightened, which has a noticeable influence on its playing characteristics and feeling. The S-shaped “throat” of the bow (i.e. the last few centimeters before the tip) allows for supple playing and easy articulation.
