This cello bow was inspired by Carlo Tononi, one of the most famous violin and bow makers in Italy. The original is housed in the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford.
Already in the early ‘90s, I had the opportunity to personally measure this bow there, and ever since then I have been fascinated by its design and function.
The original bow has a clip-in frog, but nowadays I generally build this model with a screw mechanism. By using various different woods for the frog and the screw and through further individual customization, this model can be made to have different weights and balance points. In the final stages of the building process, I am happy to adjust the bow to your preferences – ideally together with you in my workshop. In this way, a bow with a truly unique identity is created.

Customer satisfaction is very important to me in every order.
A down payment of approx. 1/3 of the purchase price enables the order to be processed quickly. The balance will be paid after satisfaction.
If, contrary to expectations, the bow does not please, the deposit can be refunded except for a handling fee of 100,- Euro. The circumstances of the order and deposit are subject to personal agreement.
I look forward to our exchange,
